Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Frisco is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Frisco peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Hello my name is Curtis Gammage and I'm so happy to find a honest mechanic that knows his stuff. I took my 2006 Dodge Durango to him, because it had some starting issues. Joe diagnosed the suv for me and told me the problem. I had taken my vehicle to several other places and they couldn't solve the problem, but Joe @ Auto Repair Excellence did.He found the problem and fixed the problem. He also gave me recommendations for other repairs needed.i will be getting those other services done very soon. His prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Joe to all my family and friends. Try Joe out at Auto Repair Excellence, I guarantee you want be disappointed!!!

Joe always goes above and beyond to diagnose and make repairs, He doesn’t have a massive ego like most mechanics he wants you to understand what needs to be done. I bring my box truck for business to him and he’s always gotten me back on the road in timely manner. Never want to see a mechanic but if you do than he’s my go to.

Great mechanic at a reasonable price. He knows what he is doing, very responsible and quick. It's hard to find him because Google maps takes you to the wrong place. I am glad he is hard to get to because I can get my car fixed quickly. A hidden gem for sure!!

I moved to Texas a couple of years ago and couldn’t find a good mechanic that was reliable but today that all changed and I can say I have officially found the mechanic I would trust to work on every vehicle I have! He was upfront, honest and very kind. I only had a small problem but he could’ve lied and said it was a bigger problem and charged me for it but he didn’t he was very honest about what was wrong with my car. Also because I don’t know much about cars he was patient enough to walk me through things and gave me advice on buying the right parts moving forward. 10/10 would recommend!

I am a recent arrival in the area, and shortly after coming into town, I noticed an odd noise coming from my engine (all 209K+ miles of her). Solicited some other shops in the area (closer to me at that moment) however, luckily, I came across this shop and, upon contact, Joe was gracious enough to offer to look at my vehicle with very short notice. After a quick look, Joe correctly diagnosed the issue (alternator needed replacement), quoted me a fair price, and was able to obtain the replacement part and fix the issue within the span of a weekday afternoon! Joe was able to diagnose another major issue that had been missed by many, many other "corporate" shops and, more than likely saved me money, stress, and my vehicle's engine! As long as I remain in the area, I will consult with Joe on any potential issue with my vehicle, and recommend his services without hesitation.
